FAQ

You asked, I answered.

  • Where is your service area?

I service the Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens area. I also offer virtual services for anyone located outside these areas that is interested in working with me.

  • How will you support my partner?

As your Doula, I am there to become part of your support system, not replace them. My job is to empower you in your birthing journey, and empower your partner in supporting you and playing an active role in your journey.

  • What if I am having a hospital birth?

Where you choose to birth is your personal choice. I support all types of birth. My job is to make sure you feel empowered and supported through your journey, no matter the location.

  • What is not included in doula support?

    Doulas are not medical professionals

They do not perform clinical tasks such as vaginal exams or fetal heart monitoring

They do not give medical advice or diagnose conditions

They do not make decisions for the client (medical or otherwise)

They do not pressure the birthing person into certain choices just because that’s what they prefer

They do not take over the role of the partner

They do not catch the baby

They do not change shifts (although some doulas may call in their back-up after 12-24 hours)

  • Do you have children?

I have no children of my own yet. However, I do have experience with children and supporting pregnancies. My lack of children does not impede my ability to provide you support and advocacy tailored your specific needs and to hold space for you throughout your journey. Doula work is as much heart led and spiritual, as it is experience.
